Comparative Vertebrate Embryology BIOL 4820/5820 (3 credits) This course covers the development and evolution of vertebrate organs and tissues through investigation of their comparative development and morphogenesis. We cover major vertebrate morphological transitions and the molecular, cellular, and developmental mechanisms underlying their evolution. Pre-requisite: Developmental Biology Applied Biology I BIOL.6060 (1 credit) This is a seminar course for graduate students focusing on professional applications of biology, especially those outside of academia. We also discuss societal and ethical implications of recent advances in biology such as various genome engineering methods and their applications. |
